Enforcing Server Rules

Module 1: The Tools of Enforcement

Rules are meaningless without consistent enforcement. In ERLC, you have a suite of tools at your disposal to maintain order. The most prominent is the developer console (accessed via the settings menu for authorized staff), which allows you to execute commands globally or targeted at specific individuals.

Module 2: The Player List & Quick Actions

While chat commands (like :kick username) are useful, the in-game player list is often the fastest way to moderate. From the player list UI, staff members with the appropriate permissions can click on a player's name and immediately access options to warn, kick, or ban them. This is especially useful during chaotic moments when typing out commands is too slow.

Module 3: Banning Problematic Vehicles

Not all rules revolve around player behavior; sometimes, the game's mechanics conflict with your server's realism. ERLC allows you to ban specific vehicles from being spawned on your private server.

Module 4: The Art of Progressive Discipline

The fastest way to kill a server's population is a trigger-happy staff team that permabans players for minor offenses. Implement a "Strike System."

  1. Strike 1 (Warning): A verbal or systemic warning for minor infractions (e.g., running a red light in a strict traffic server, minor Fail RP).
  2. Strike 2 (Kick): Removing the player from the server, forcing them to rejoin. This is usually enough to stop disruptive behavior.
  3. Strike 3 (Ban): A temporary or permanent ban reserved for blatant RDM (Random Deathmatch), exploiting, or repeated offenses.

Conclusion

Enforcement should be firm but fair. Use the tools provided by ERLC to manage the technical aspects, but rely on progressive discipline to ensure your community feels respected rather than oppressed.
